I curated a multimedia gallery exhibit at the Asian Arts Initiative called That Person Who Is Your Creation: Art By Women of Iranian Descent that was on display from January-April 2013.
Taking its title from the line of a 1950s feminist poem, Call To Arms by the late Iranian poet Forough Farrokhzad, this exhibition investigated internal and external constructs of female identity in and outside Iran. The paintings and video installations challenge both Eastern and Western notions about the subject, ‘unveiling’ femininity in the process.
